Unbelievable...

this week i'm fasting. a few things..which i'm giving up, include meat, till the 28th.  i'm doing it to get some clarity on some things in my life right now.  well guess what.... it's rib fest on sparks st. right outside my office door.  wow. lol. it's ok though.. it's easy when it's to hear God's voice (right?).. despite the noise.. and smell of ribs..cooking over hickory.  i'm missing the things i'm fasting, but it's ok to miss... dang... how come all the things i'm fasting smell so good? oh rib fest (i've been waiting a whole year for it to come around).... wow, i'll be ok. lol. soy burgers, eggs, lentils, bread and salad for me... gotta work out more. it's only a week.

How does not eating meat bring clarity to the mind? I ate yogurt parfaits for 2 months and I don't think it got any clearer :P

Anyways, open those ears up, clean out the wax (eww) and I'm sure you'll start hearing with those ears of yours.

The whole point of fasting is to give up your necessity and relying on God to provide. It is also a way to hold of temptation while you have a need to be satisfied. Good luck with your fasting...especially during ribfest. Oh boy...

Clarity is important. I pray your mind will be opened during this time of fasting.

Humble yourslef, let Him reveal to you what small things you may have left in your box. Take it out, let him refill and overflow it with His plans, His desires and His will for you.

LOL, Well, tho i haven't been around much, it's good to hear that you're fasting for clarity. I don't know how that would work, since when i get hungry, my mind goes bonkers. Anyhow, I'll keep you in my prayers also. Good luck, and may the Lord be with you (especially during rib fest).

Mt 6:17-18

But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face;

so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

-- not meant as a scold, but a reminder.
